The Credit Counselling and Debt Management Agency, or commonly known as AKPK – Agensi Kaunseling dan Pengurusan Kredit, is an agency set up by Bank Negara Malaysia in April 2006 to help individuals take control of their financial situation and gain peace of mind that comes from the wise use of credit.

AKPK – Agensi Kaunseling dan Pengurusan Kredit Financial education has never been more important in today’s environment. Participating effectively in the financial system can improve the economic wellbeing of individuals and businesses. Financial education is therefore key so that members of our society will benefit from the financial system and from the new technologies that are transforming our financial landscape.

Our DMP is available to all individuals who need assistance in managing their personal debts with the participating financial service providers, provided that:

You have a positive net disposable income after meeting all your expenses
Your total debt exposure does not exceed RM5 million
You are not under any advanced litigation process such as creditors petition
NOT BANKRUPT You are not adjudged bankrupt
