    About Us

    Co-operative Institute of Malaysia (CIM) – Institut Koperasi Malaysia, previously known as the Co-operative College of Malaysia (CCM) – Maktab Koperasi Malaysia is the only cooperative training centers in the country. Upon its inception in 1956, it was funded by the Colonial and Development Fund, while the government has provided a tremendous contribution to encourage the development of CIM as a whole. In 1968, Co-operative Institute of Malaysia CIM has been recognized as a statutory body by an Act of the Cooperative College (Incorporation) Act 1968, as approved by Parliament on 11 September 1968.

    In accordance with the passage of time, the Parliament passed the Co-operative College (Incorporation) (Amendment) Act 2011 [Act 1398] which came into effect on 1 September 2011 was to streamline the governance of CIM in order to plan and carry out innovative and creative programs to support the development of the cooperative movement.

    Co-operative Institute of Malaysia has been placed under several ministries including the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Land and Cooperative Development. In 2009, CIM has been placed under the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumer Affairs (KPDNKK) now Co-operative Institute of Malaysia has been placed under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development (MED).

    Co-operative Institute of Malaysia CIM Campus

    Co-operative Institute of Malaysia CIM  main campus is located in Petaling Jaya near the capital Kuala Lumpur, the campus is easily reached with various transportation facilities such as buses, LRT and taxi. This simplifies the society in general and in particular for the cooperative movement here.

    Co-operative Institute of Malaysia CIM area which is decorated with attractive landscaping area creates a calm and peaceful environment. These features make the CIM a suitable option for meetings, meetings, courses, seminars, workshops and so on.

    In June 1997, the Co-operative Institute of Malaysia CIM opened a branch in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and has been offering services in Kuching, Sarawak in September 1998. CIM opened the Eastern Zone (Pahang) in 2009, the Northern Zone (Kedah) in 2010, and the South Zone (Johor) also in 2010 to enable the cooperative training and education programs can be followed more easily throughout the country.

    Malaysia Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP)

    Co-operative Institute of Malaysia CIM for Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) was officially launched on 7 September 1980 at the State Commonwealth Headquarters Meeting in New Delhi to signify Malaysia’s commitment to the South-South Cooperation, in particular to share MCI development experiences and expertise with other developing countries.

    Based on the belief that development of a country depends on the quality of human resources, Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) emphasizes on the development of human resources through provision of training in various areas which are essential for a country’s development such as public administration, good governance, health services, education, sustainable development, agriculture, poverty eradication, investment promotion, ICT and banking.

    Every year, more than 100 Programs are offered are offered by more than 79 MTCP Training Institutions, many of the countries are the Center of Excellence. Since its launching, more than 29,000 participants from 140 countries have benefited from the various programs offered under the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP).

    Objective

    • To share development experience with other countries;
    • To strengthen bilateral relations between Malaysia and other developing countries;
    • To promote South-South Cooperation (SSC);
    • To promote technical cooperation among developing countries (TCDC).

    As the sole co-operative education institution in Malaysia, Co-operative Institute of Malaysia CIM has been entrusted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to conduct the ‘Certificate in Co-operative Management’ course. This serves as recognition by the Malaysia government to advocate the co-operative sector as the third engine of growth for Malaysia after the public and private sectors.

    About Institut Koperasi Malaysia IKM

    Institut Koperasi Malaysia (IKM) yang sebelum ini dikenali sebagai Maktab Kerjasama Malaysia dan Maktab Koperasi Malaysia merupakan satu-satunya pusat latihan koperasi di negara ini.

    Ketika ditubuhkan pada tahun 1956, keperluan kewangannya dibiayai oleh Colonial Welfare dan Development Fund, manakala kerajaan pula telah memberikan sumbangan yang amat besar bagi menggalakkan pembangunan IKM keseluruhannya.

    Pada tahun 1968, IKM telah diiktiraf sebagai sebuah badan berkanun melalui Akta Maktab Kerjasama (Perbadanan) 1968 yang diluluskan oleh Parlimen pada 11 September 1968.

    Sesuai dengan peredaran masa, Parlimen telah meluluskan Akta Maktab Kerjasama (Perbadanan)(Pindaan ) 2011[Akta 1398] yang mula berkuatkuasa pada 1 September 2011 bertujuan untuk memperkemaskan tadbir urus IKM supaya dapat merancang dan menjalankan program yang inovatif dan kreatif bagi menyokong pembangunan gerakan koperasi.

    IKM pernah diletakkan di bawah beberapa kementerian antaranya Kementerian Pertanian dan juga Kementerian Tanah dan Pembangunan Koperasi. Mulai tahun 2009, telah diletakkan di bawah Kementerian Perdagangan Dalam Negeri, Koperasi dan Kepenggunaan (KPDNKK) dan kini telah diletakkan di bawah Kementerian Pembangunan Usahawan dan Koperasi (MEDAC)

    Kampus Institut Koperasi Malaysia IKM

    Kampus induk IKM terletak di Petaling Jaya dan berhampiran dengan ibukota Kuala Lumpur, kampus ini mudah dihubungi dengan pelbagai kemudahan pengangkutan seperti bas, LRT dan teksi. Ini memudahkan masyarakat secara umum dan gerakan koperasi khususnya untuk ke sini.

    Kawasan yang dihiasi seni taman yang menarik pula mewujudkan persekitaran yang tenang dan damai. Ciri-ciri yang sebegini menjadikan Institut Koperasi Malaysia tempat pilihan untuk mengadakan perjumpaan, mesyuarat, kursus, seminar, bengkel dan sebagainya.

    Pada bulan Jun 1997 IKM telah membuka cawangan di Kota Kinabalu, Sabah dan telah menawarkan perkhidmatan di Kuching, Sarawak pada September 1998. IKM membuka Zon Timur di Pahang pada tahun 2009, Zon Utara di Kedah pada tahun 2010, dan Zon Selatan di Johor juga pada tahun 2010 untuk membolehkan program latihan dan pendidikan koperasi dapat diikuti dengan lebih mudah di seluruh negara.

    Daftar Kursus & Tempah Fasiliti

    Projek MITS membolehkan penggunaan fasiliti sedia ada di Institut Koperasi Malaysia dikongsi secara menyeluruh dan penggunaannya dapat dioptimakan oleh pelbagai pihak.

    Dalam masa yang sama, projek ini juga menawarkan kemudahan carian dan permohonan kursus yang ditawarkan oleh Institut Koperasi Malaysia di seluruh Malaysia. Tidak lagi terhad kepada penjawat awam, MITS kini dibuka kepada orang ramai untuk menikmati fasiliti yang ditawarkan oleh Institut Koperasi Malaysia.

    e-Perpustakaan

    Membolehkan pengguna perpustakaan mencari dan mengakses koleksi katalog ILMU dari mana-mana komputer peribadi (PC) yang bersambung web bila sahaja mereka menggunakan pelayar web.Pengguna boleh juga membuat tempahan barangan yang telah dipinjam oleh orang lain, melihat keratan multimedia dan melihat dokumen yang dicetak dan emel serta pautan imej pada sebarang rekod bibliografi, dengan

    memanfaatkan teknologi pelayar yang terkini untuk meningkatkan produktiviti dan kecekapan.Web OPAC dipautkan kepada Amazon.com untuk memuat naik kulit buku dan ulasan pengarang bagi rekod bibliografi yang dimuat turun.
